On September 19, 2009 Fire Chief Robert Scott, Asst. Chief William Baker, and Firefighter Daniel Washinski, along with several firefighters from Harrington Fire Co, where presented with the 2009 Delaware Heroic Firefighter Awards for thier roles in the rescue of Harrington firefighter Robert Brode. Firefighter Brode fell through the floor of a working house fire and with the help of all personnel involved was able to walk out of the hospital with minor injuries. The Houston Fire Company Salutes the recipients of the 2009 award.
