EMS/Firefighter Supervisor
The Houston Volunteer Fire Company is accepting resumes for the position of Full Time NREMT- /Firefighter Supervisor. Employee will be responsible for staffing basic life support ambulances on a daily basis, providing emergency medical care & transportation. Employee may be utilized for fire suppression activities when deemed necessary by a Chief Officer. Responsibilities will also include but are not limited to custodial duties, routine checks on equipment and tools, fire prevention, administrative functions and logistical support as needed. Applicants must be mature, self-motivated, responsible and able to work well with others with minimal supervision. Competitive Pay to be determined in interview. Shifts will be set schedule 4 days per week, but can be changed without notice.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Must be at least 21 years of age Hold valid NREMT-, Delaware EMT- and current CPR/AED certification Basic Firefighting Skills, Structural Firefighting Skills, Hazmat Response Skills, Vehicle Rescue Driver/Operator. (Delaware State Fire School or equivalent.) Delaware Motor Vehicle Operators License and Delaware EVO Must be a non-member of the Houston Vol. Fire Company. Current Delaware FTO Card 3 years Experience as an EMT.

The duties will consist of but not limited to the list below. Duties and responsibilities may change with Supervisor and the Committee agreeing. Work a 4 day work week ( Ex: Monday through Thursday 12 hours per day Every Friday Saturday Sunday Off.) Or adjusted schedule that is agreed upon. Maintain and update Employees monthly schedule using Chief Backstage. First contact for call-outs. Submit payroll to the committee for approval every other Monday. Provide input, maintain and assist EMS committee with budget Coordinate QA/QI Process to ensure 100% and corrections and errors corrected. Draft, Submit and Revise EMS SOP’s, . The EMS Committee will have final approval. * Review/Revise the current employee handbook with the EMS Committee. Once completed will be responsible for enforcement of the handbook. Supervisor will be responsible for employee discipline up to the immediate suspension. Long term suspensions (more than 3 shifts) or terminations are at the discretion of The EMS Committee and Supervisor. Serve as liaison between employees and Employee Committee. Serve on Sexual Harassment Committee. Serve on Long Term Planning Committee for EMS Division. Serve on Apparatus Committee – only when dealing with the ambulance, Liaison with Employees. Implement and Oversee daily duties. Ensure they are being completed. Maintain proper Inventory and Order EMS supplies. Inventory, order and restock sealed bags. Inventory, order and restock station cleaning supplies. Compile and maintain EMS Personnel Files and serve as Training Coordinator for National Registry Coordinate EMS Training as needed/requested by The EMS Committee. Prepare and initial all EMS bills for Committee approval. Maintain invoice receipts and additional paperwork in file cabinet.

Probation period of 3 months, at the end of 3 months there will be a review to address any concerns both from the Supervisor and or the committee. The EMS Supervisor only answers to the EMS Committee.
