The rigorous training covered a wide range of critical disciplines, including CPR and AED certification, vehicle rescue, basic structural firefighting, marine rescue, HAZMAT responses, forcible entry, and car fires. The academy also provided demonstrations from numerous other emergency response agencies, giving the junior members a comprehensive look into the profession.
"We are incredibly proud of our junior members for their dedication and hard work," said a spokesperson for the Houston Volunteer Fire Company. "This program provides a crucial foundation for their development, and we are grateful to the Delaware State Fire School for offering such a high-quality academy. Our members represented the department exceptionally well, and we look forward to their continued growth and service to the community."
The graduation marks a significant milestone for the young recruits, who are now better equipped to assist with the department's operations and continue their path toward becoming full-fledged firefighters.
