On August 22nd, 2015 Houston Vol. Fire Company was asked by Bowers Volunteer Fire Company to assist with Camp Bruiser. Camp Bruiser is a great cause that was inspired by a young female firefighter that was killed. The camp informs young Men and Women ages 13-17 that have a interest in the fire service or EMS, the awareness of the fire service and hopefully sparks additional interest among the young teenagers throughout the community. Firefighters from Houston Fire Company showed the teenagers how to get into a vehicle when it has been involved in a rollover, MVC or any other type of accident. The insturctor discussed with the teenagers exactly what the firefighters were doing as they cut up the vehicle, as well as talked about why the firefighters focused on certain areas on the vehicle. Houston Vol. Fire Company enjoyed the time there with the teenagers and want to thank Camp Bruiser and Bowers Fire Company for having us their.
